Creative Time Summit DC: Occupy the Future

Maria Hlavajova during the Creative Time Summit in Washington DC on 14 October 2016

The Creative Time Summit is an international conference on art and social change. Occurring in Washington DC just weeks before the 2016 Presidential Election, the Creative Time Summit DC offers a stage to collectively consider what it means to radically transform the current state of democracy—or how to institute otherwise. Standing in for Jonas Staal—being denied access to the United States as a result of his work in Syria—Maria Hlavajova discusses the various aspects of his work on power and democracy in both the Netherlands and Rojava.
