Op donderdag 24 november 2022 organiseert Colored Qollective, in samenwerking met POCQunity, hun derde jaarlijkse symposium, dit keer gericht op de geestelijke gezondheid van queer mensen van kleur. Het thema van het symposium is Communal Care & Healing.

Het belangrijkste doel van het symposium is om een ​​platform te bieden aan queer mensen van kleur en om urgente onderwerpen te bespreken. Momenteel bevinden we ons in een geestelijke gezondheidscrisis, met eindeloze wachtlijsten en gebrek aan voldoende zorg. Dit symposium is een eerste aanzet om te bespreken hoe we als gemeenschap elkaar kunnen ondersteunen in onze zelfredzaamheid en geestelijk welzijn.

Voor wie?
Dit symposium is een open evenement en toegankelijk voor iedereen die geïnteresseerd is. We nodigen zorgprofessionals en queer mensen van kleur nadrukkelijk uit om zich aan te melden. Daarnaast zijn ook activisten, belangenorganisaties, beleidsmakers en onderzoekers meer dan welkom om deel te nemen aan het evenement. Mensen die niet tot de doelgroep behoren, raden we aan om zich—in verband met beperkte capaciteit—te registreren als online gast.

Colored Qollective & POCQunity
Dit symposium wordt georganiseerd door Colored Qollective en POCQunity, gesubsidieerd door de gemeente Utrecht en COC Nederland. Colored Qollective is een grass-roots organisatie opgericht in 2018, en biedt een veilige(re) ruimte voor en door LGBTQIA+ mensen van kleur. POCQunity is een onafhankelijk project dat psychosociale begeleiding biedt aan LHBTQIA+ mensen van kleur in Utrecht en omgeving.

Using the sancocho (a pan-Latin American soup with no fixed recipe) as a tool for research and encounter, Mercado Lourdes (Bogotá, Colombia) will host and organize a series of field meals. These events activate and connect the multiple affects that have resulted from ongoing research with local producers into the biodiversity of the territory.

In all continents, people have built matriarchal cosmologies sustained by complex rituals. In the advent of main modern religions and after centuries of colonizing invasions, the goddesses of antiquity were suppressed by the patriarchal structures that consolidated our era. However, they found ways to speak to us in the language of patterns, melodies, and poems. This workshop uses the voice as a method to reveal the presence of goddesses.

Different strategies, tools, methodologies, and contexts are explored to learn more about the challenges and opportunities in the practices and theories of community kitchens.
