In april 2017 werd het boekje Words of Labour gepresenteerd aan de Sociaal-Economische Raad. Deze publicatie door de FNV (Federatie Nederlandse Vakbeweging) is een collectie aan essentiële begrippen uit Verdrag 189 van de International Labour Organization, voorzien van verhalen van huishoudelijk werkers in Nederland. Hiermee worden de doorgaans onzichtbare realiteiten achter de feiten en figuren van dit type werk aan het licht gebracht.
Tijdens de discussie gaan BAK 2017–2018 Fellow Matthijs de Bruijne, die als kunstenaar betrokken is geweest bij de vakbondsorganisatie van de huishoudelijk werkers, en Charisma Adams, vertegenwoordiger van de FNV Netwerkgroep Migrant Domestic Workers, in gesprek over de context van het boekje en over manieren om het recht op te eisen op daden van zelfbeschikking.

Using the sancocho (a pan-Latin American soup with no fixed recipe) as a tool for research and encounter, Mercado Lourdes (Bogotá, Colombia) will host and organize a series of field meals. These events activate and connect the multiple affects that have resulted from ongoing research with local producers into the biodiversity of the territory.

In all continents, people have built matriarchal cosmologies sustained by complex rituals. In the advent of main modern religions and after centuries of colonizing invasions, the goddesses of antiquity were suppressed by the patriarchal structures that consolidated our era. However, they found ways to speak to us in the language of patterns, melodies, and poems. This workshop uses the voice as a method to reveal the presence of goddesses.
