Save the Date: Propositions #12
BAK, basis voor actuele kunst, Utrecht is proud to announce Propositions #12, an eight-hour live radio play presented in ten scenes. The program emerges from the post-academic BAK 2019/2020 Fellowship Program, in which the Fellows address urgencies of the contemporary through individual and collective research. After a four-month extension of the 2019/2020 Fellowship Program due to the global pandemic, the Fellows regroup to form an acoustic choreography around the urgency of being together otherwise. This choreography unfolds over several scenes, some inviting a limited audience on location, and all inviting an extended listenership through virtual channels. Reflecting the knowledges and practices emerging from the Fellowship Program and the Fellows’ research, it engages myriad approaches to the systems of the world—structural change, ways of being together, navigations of reality—in themselves constitutive of possible worlds—whether new or already existing.
Hosted by BAK and the BAK 2019/2020 Fellows: Mijke van der Drift, Mitchell Esajas, Katia Krupennikova, Diana McCarty, David Muñoz Alcántara, Oleksiy Radynski, Reem Shilleh, Urok Shirhan, Joy Mariama Smith, and Grant Watson

More on the BAK Fellowship Program
Since 2017, BAK, basis voor actuele kunst, Utrecht conducts a post-academic Fellowship Program with, at its center, research on reframing and rethinking conditions of the contemporary through politically driven art-making and inquiry. The 10-month Fellowship Program offers 10 research positions per year to Netherlands- and internationally-based practitioners at the intersection of art, theory, and social action. The Fellowship Program develops talent and critical practice in concert with the public projects of BAK, advancing the notion of art as a public sphere and a political space.
