Terwijl er dagelijks een groter aantal en rijkere types media voortgebracht worden, zou je kunnen denken dat het alleen maar makkelijker wordt om consensus over historische gebeurtenissen tot stand te brengen. Maar data is niet hetzelfde als informatie; om de laatste voort te brengen, is een intensief proces van dataverzameling, filteren, analyse en interpretatie vereist. Om vandaag te bewijzen wat er in het verleden heeft plaatsgevonden moet je jezelf onderdompelen in een steeds verder verzadigd en evoluerend landschap van dataproductie. Een landschap van waarheid ligt besloten in en tussen massale hoeveelheden en verschillende vormen media die elke gebeurtenis omgeven.

Met de bewijsvoeringsmethode die Forensic Architecture ‘Geosync’ noemt als centraal onderwerp, bespreekt Stefan Laxness The Ayotzinapa Case, 2017, een onderzoek naar de verdwijning in 2014 van 43 studenten in Iguala, Mexico. Gamze Hızlı en Özlem Zingil van Hafiza Merkezi bespreken hun recente onderzoek naar mensenrechtenschendingen in Turkije.

 

Onderdeel van Propositions #7: Evidentiary Methods

Propositions #7: Evidentiary Methods – het publieke programma in de context van de tentoonstelling Forensic Justice en dat deel uitmaakt van BAK’s reeks Propositions for Non-Fascist Living (2017–2020) – gaat dieper in op de notie van forensic justice in een reeks lezingen, filmvertoningen en workshops over verschillende methodologieën om claims te uiten in de meerdimensionale ruimte van esthetiek, recht, architectuur, politiek en ecologie. Het programma zorgt voor een dieper inzicht in de werken van, of gemaakt in samenwerking met, Forensic Architecture, inclusief onderzoeken die geen deel van de tentoonstelling uitmaken. De bijeenkomsten zijn vooral gericht op de technieken en innovatieve bewijsvoeringsmethoden op het raakvlak van recht, kunst, politiek en het veranderlijke medialandschap dat in de forensische praktijk toegepast wordt, en scheppen de gelegenheid voor een dialoog en uitwisseling tussen de concrete zaken die door Forensic Architecture onderzocht zijn en andere lopende activistische campagnes in Nederland en daarbuiten. De reeks is opgezet in samenwerking met Nick Axel (architectuurtheoreticus, Amsterdam).

Using the sancocho (a pan-Latin American soup with no fixed recipe) as a tool for research and encounter, Mercado Lourdes (Bogotá, Colombia) will host and organize a series of field meals. These events activate and connect the multiple affects that have resulted from ongoing research with local producers into the biodiversity of the territory.

In all continents, people have built matriarchal cosmologies sustained by complex rituals. In the advent of main modern religions and after centuries of colonizing invasions, the goddesses of antiquity were suppressed by the patriarchal structures that consolidated our era. However, they found ways to speak to us in the language of patterns, melodies, and poems. This workshop uses the voice as a method to reveal the presence of goddesses.
