Black Quantum Futurism (Camae Ayewa and Rasheedah Phillips)

Black Quantum Futurism is een multidisciplinaire samenwerking tussen poëet, muzikant en activist Camae Ayewa en kunstenaar, auteur en activist Rasheedah Phillips. Geïnspireerd door Zwart-futuristische ideeën van tijd en ruimte onderzoeken ze de raakvlakken van verbeelding, fictie, creatieve media, doe-het-zelf esthetiek en activisme in gemarginaliseerde gemeenschappen. Het collectief creëert sociale evenementen, experimentele muziekprojecten, performances, tentoonstellingen, zines en essays. Recente tentoonstellingen zijn onder meer Trainings for the Not-Yet, BAK, basis voor actuele kunst, Utrecht, 2019–2020; Orbits, Tiger Strikes Asteroid, Chicago, 2019; Black Quantum Futurism: Timeless Degrees of Freedom, Vox Populi, Philadelphia, 2019; en Black Quantum Futurism: All Time is Local, The Center for Emerging Visual Artists, Philadelphia, 2019.
