Sarah Pierce

Sarah Pierce is kunstenaar. Door middel van performances, video’s, essays, interviews, tentoonstellingen en archiefmateriaal onderzoekt ze de plekken en contexten waar artistieke praktijken en tentoonstellingen plaatsvinden, dikwijls binnen het instituut zelf. Ze deed promotieonderzoek binnen Visual Cultures aan Goldsmiths, University of Londen, Londen volgde een MFA aan Cornell University, Ithaca, en was voorheen deelnemer van het Independent Study Program van Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. Naast docent aan de Roaming Academy of Dutch Art Institute, Arnhem is ze docent aan Dublin Institute of Technology, Dublin. Recente tentoonstellingen zijn onder meer: Pathos of Distance, National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin, 2015–2016; Posititions #2, Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, 2015–2015; El Lissitzky: The Artist and the State, Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, 2015; Lost Illusions/Illusions Perdues, Walter Phillips Gallery, Banff, 2014, Mercer Union, Toronto, 2014 en SBC Gallery of Contemporary Art, Montreal, 2014. Pierce woont en werkt in Dublin.
