cultural worker and educator

Sanne Karssenberg is a cultural worker and educator. She works as a producer/project coordinator at BAK, basis voor actuele kunst, Utrecht. Her main focus is ‘BAK basis voor…’ in which BAK joins forces with local communities and organizations in addressing shared urgencies and developing propositions for “being together otherwise”. With a background in (fashion) design and education, Karssenberg’s focus is on art as a space for alternative collective processes in everyday life. Her work as a concept developer and coordinator in multiple design studios had a strong focus on design as an interface for enhancing socio-political interactivity between the wearer and their surroundings. Karssenberg finished her Fashion Research Master from the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam, 2017 and is currently teaching at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht. Sanne works in Utrecht, and lives in Amsterdam.
