are now called 'mineral rich.'
And still it seems the game goes on
with unity always just out of reach

but they've been moved to the 'middle east'.
There are examples galore I assure you,
but if interpreting was left up to me
I'd be sure every time folks knew this version wasn't mine

We start with a panel discussion with Razeen, a Sudanese artist and activist, on (sub)imperialism & the current civil war in Sudan, as well as an activist toolbox for better allyship & solidarity with the Sudanese people. Razeen will also be giving a music performace, playing from his debut album Yallah Nargus (‘Let’s Dance'), followed by a set by DJ $oul$ucka playing some Baile funk/New Orleans bounce type vibes.

about Razeen
As a Sudanese artist raised in the Netherlands, Razeen walks a thin line between his Afro-Arabic roots and his influences from Western pop culture. Raised between these two worlds, duality is a recurring theme in his music: God and taboos, masculinity and femininity, love and the ego, war and peace. He aims to show the interconnectivity of it all. Truly an artist in the broadest sense—one who cannot be defined or put into a box.
With his high energy during live shows, some consider him one of the best performers in Amsterdam’s underground music scene. He has performed at respected venues such as Paradiso, Melkweg, and Skate Café, just to name a few. Even though he sings predominantly in Arabic, the language barrier doesn’t stop the crowd from feeling his music and energy—and moving their bodies.
With his newly released debut album Yallah Nargus, which is Arabic for “Let’s Dance” you know what to expect! Though the title sounds light-hearted, for Razeen it also means, “No matter how hard life gets, let’s try to make the best of it.” Yallah Nargus is fully produced by “The Master of All Rhythms” Kevin van Belen.

Growing up across three different countries and cultures, alongside being shaped by the internet’ vast exposure to global sounds, has deeply influenced DJ $oul$ucka’s identity. From Korean, Sudanese and Latinx music to vogue and club culture, these genres have expanded her understanding of how music can travel, transform, and connect people.
We are living in an era of globalization where languages, genres, and cultures constantly collide and blend. She sees this fusion as a powerful, unifying force within every generation, one that deserves to be nurtured and celebrated. Her work aims to highlight the diasporas from which much of our music originates and amplifying marginalized cultures that have historically shaped sound yet often remain uncredited or unseen.
By combining contemporary production with sounds from across time and place, she strives to reflect her mixed upbringing through her sets. Ultimately, the goal is to create an indescribable, euphoric energy to the point it feels like you’re floating off the floor.
about Kai
Kai is an artist born, raised and based in Utrecht with Sudanese roots. They are an urbanist, with a Humanities spirit through and through.
about Raidan Baqi
Raidan Baqi is an artist from Yemen based in Utrecht. He was Young Fellow at BAK, Basis voor Actuele Kunst in 2024 and joined BAK Basecamp as a fellow builder in the fall of 2025. He's co-curating the programmatic line Young Revolt.
