The Philippines has fought for their national liberation for 53 years. The National Democratic Front of the Philippines is the banner that has united organizations against the oppressive fascist government of the Philippines, and the chokehold of US imperialism on the Filipino people. Uniting scientists, engineers, health workers, trade unions, peasants, indigenous people, artists at home and a network of filipinos and supporters abroad is no easy accomplishment. In over 5 decades of struggle they have learned lessons to strengthen the unity of the Filipino people against their oppressors.
The Netherlands has different conditions than the Philippines. As internationalists, anti-imperialist activists must learn from their lessons and challenge the ruling class and oppressors within the belly of the beast. In times of rising fascism, we have a duty to learn from others’ experiences and understand our own situation!
