MOOKORE
Self acceptance through Embodied Exploration
a workshop by Deren and Nina
MOOKORE is an invitation to arrive in your body, just as you are.
You don’t need any movement or dance experience. You don’t need to be flexible, confident, expressive, or “good” at anything. If you have a body and a pulse, you’re already enough. MOOKORE offers a gentle space to slow down and listen inward, through movement, breath,
voice, and sound. We explore sensation rather than shape, feeling rather than form. There is no choreography, no technique to learn, and no expectation to perform. Nothing to get right. The focus is not on how movement looks, but on how it feels to be inside it.
The practice is rooted in somatic presence and non-verbal exploration. We move alone and together, sometimes in stillness, sometimes in motion, allowing curiosity to lead instead of judgment. Intimacy emerges not through words or explanations, but through shared presence, being with yourself, and being with others, without the pressure to be understood.
MOOKORE was initiated by Nina Victoria van der Blonk and Deren Sanıvar and grew out of a desire to step away from performative movement spaces. What began as choreographic research has transformed into an open, accessible practice for anyone longing to feel more at home in their body,
and more connected in an increasingly overstimulating world.
