Life After Capitalism

The world's on fire and capitalism's the culprit
lecture
organized by Marxisme School

How can one system be the cause of so many woes of the world, from labor exploitation to climate catastrophe and war between nations? In this lecture, Marxisme School will explain what capitalism is, and what kind of world it recreates in its own image everyday. A world where there is an overproduction of food, but people go hungry. Where workers build mansions, but live in mold-infested houses. Where capitalists use the state to deepen inequality and intensify their exploitation of the working class. Where ruling class media and police batons serve the same purpose: to keep us passive in the face of oppression.

In a world of oppression and exploitation, it can be hard to imagine alternatives. How can we work towards a better future, if we don’t know what this looks like? Historically, millions of people all over the world have fought for the alternative systems of socialism and communism. Under socialism we don’t produce for profits, but produce for the needs of the people. Production is planned to ensure every individual has their basic needs met. People are encouraged to organize, and to take their political destinies into their own hands. Under communism we do away with the state, classes and money altogether!

This inaugural event is a capsule of everything Marxisme School stands for: critiquing capitalism to build an alternative future, turning nihilism into revolutionary optimism, and understanding our society so we can transform it. Because Marxism is not just a theory, it’s a guide to action.

about Marxisme School
Marxisme School is an education and research collective. Our goal is to make a class analysis of the Netherlands, to make a summation of its revolutionary history and to propagate Marxism through study groups and lectures. Marxist ideology is the world outlook of the working class, based on the science of revolution. We as workers have an interest in uncovering how exploitation and oppression functions.

We study revolution to learn how future generations can be emancipated from the capitalist class dictatorship. Our world has changed since Marx was alive, but we can still divide our society into those who exploit and those who are exploited. Our class analysis aims to bring to light how this exploitation works, who benefits, and who doesn’t. Our summation of revolutionary organizations aims to analyze past mistakes and failures. By learning from past experiences, rather than reinventing the wheel, we improve our fighting chances for an alternative future.
