from seed to root
launch gathering by reschooling-with
part of Fermenting Resistance Otherwise
A year ago, Teresa Borasino and Shailoh Phillips, began dreaming of a space for learning, unlearning and relearning. A community of praxis — to practice transformative solidarity, to attune to land and all the beings that compose her. To decenter ourselves and ground in humility. To center those at the frontlines of systemic injustices. To dismantle the colonial logics ingrained in our bodies and institutions — with care. And to ferment resistance in ways that nurture transformation and liberation, that do not reproduce harm, and that do not suffocate the worlds our hearts know are possible.
Now, reschooling-with is taking root as a space for critical inquiry, un/learning, solidarity-weaving, and resistance.
The program will include:
Embodied practices to grow in our somatic toolbox for social change
Outdoor activity exploring movement and connection with water
Film screening of Glacial Resurgence by Teresa Borasino and conversation on transformative solidarity
Seeds, roots and ferments for dinner
Shedding ritual to let go of what needs to be unlearned
There will be a shared dinner.
reschooling-with is excited to share what they’ve been practicing, unlearning and relearning the past year — and to co-create the next steps together.
The gathering is open to everyone, but please RSVP via joining@bakonline.org so we can make sure there’s enough food for everybody. For your participation we suggest a donation between €8-15
About reschooling-with
reschooling-with is a living platform for learning, unlearning, and weaving solidarity through art, embodied research, ancestral practices, pedagogical experiments, and eco-social action.
We create collaborative spaces to grow our capacities to respond to the urgencies of our time—climate collapse, genocides, extractivism, rising white supremacy, and fascism. We engage in collective inquiry and relational practices grounded in humility, refusal, and care. Our work cultivates the conditions for other possibilities—ancestral, fugitive, and radical—to take root and grow.
About Fermenting Resistance Otherwise
Fermenting Resistance Otherwise is a a series of trainings, workshops, and gatherings , curated by artist and facilitator Teresa Borasino.
Fermentation reminds us that transformation is alive—unpredictable, uncontrollable, and deeply cooperative with the more-than-human world. It teaches us to sit with uncertainty, to practice humility, and to nurture through presence and care.
Fermenting Resistance Otherwise invites activists, artists, educators, facilitators, and organisers to move beyond traditional forms of activism and explore the bubbling, symbiotic, and unruly ways of resisting the present—while cultivating cultures in which many worlds can thrive.
Like fermentation, this work takes time. It resists urgency and metabolises inherited entitlements, habits of saviourism, and the impulse to control. Through collective study, embodied practice, creative experimentation, and shared strategy, participants learn with more-than-human companions—bacteria, yeast, fungi, lichen, soil, and water—co-shaping relational forms of activism.
Together, we ask:
How can we resist without reproducing the very structures of harm we seek to dismantle?
What becomes possible when activism slows down to listen, to grieve, and to compost?
How can our actions attune to the more-than-human world—guided by reciprocity, care, and humility?
